Do you know Baekje? About Baekje Cultural Festival

Baekje was an ancient nation in three kingdom period. My home town Gongju is one of the capitals of Beakje.
Gongju and Buyeo( another capital next to Gongju) hold 'Baekje Cultural Festival' annually in autumn.

Baekje Cultural Festival started in 1995 at Buyeo. Gongju and Buyeo had taken turns every year. But in 2007, the festival was united. So Baekje Cultural Festival is held in both sides now.

There are many many events in festival. But I recommend Sabi castle (Sabi is name of ancient Buyeo) in Buyeo and temporary bridge, luminarie and night market in Gongju.
Sabi castle was restored in 2010. It's very beautiful and wellmade. When I was in Sabi castle, I feel like I'm in ancient nation.

This is luminarie in Gongju. Design is changed every year, It's always fantastic.Temporary bridge is behind the luminarie. It connects riverside park and Gongsanseong Fortress.

Frankly speaking, It's not good to visit Gongju only for Baekje Cultural Festival. But there are many really really delicious foods. 

So just come to Gongju, watch Baekje Cultural Festival and eat delicious food( for example, pitang, Gomgole restaurant, Jin heung gak, etc).

I'm sure that you will love Gongju.
